Awesome New Game purchases, The PS3 releases of July and Holy Smokes Batman! A NEW REVIEW (Enslaved: Odyssey to the West)

New Game Purchases to my already awesome PS3 Collection

So I’ve made a couple of key game purchases this month for my PS3. Let me just say this about Sony: I LOVE THEIR COLLECTION SERIES. Any PS3 Collection that’s released, I’m all over it. I have the God of War Saga, the Killzone Collection, the Ratchet and Clank Collection, the Jak and Dexter Collection, the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection, the Journey Collectors Edition (a must have for any fan of indie games, it includes like 5 games on one disc) and now to add to my collection I have just purchased the “Best of the PlayStation Network Vol. 1″. It is a collection of Four downloadable only games that Sony has now made available for retail purchase on disc! I must confess, for someone that is not yet a fan of digitally exclusive games quite yet, these “Best of PSN” Collections are PERFECT for people like me. It seems likely there will be a Vol 2. at some point, have any ideas what games you would like to see released for a retail “Best of PSN Vol. 2” collection? Leave your suggestions in the Comments section below!

Personally, I would love to see “The Unfinished Swan“, “Papa and Yo“, “Wipeout HD” and perhaps “Guacamole!” or “Limbo” (even though it’s not a PS3 exclusive it’s still a great game!) on Vol. 2. Oh yeah, I’d be all over that. I hope Sony makes this a trend because I would love to see more. The first installment, “Best of the PlayStation Network Vol. 1” was released around June 26th at the MSRP of $39.99. Here’s a picture of the boxart with the games included:

The first in "The Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1" collection features: When Vikings Attack, Sound Shapes, Tokyo Jungle and Fat Princess.

  2. Soul Calibur IV (USED)$4.49
  3. Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1  (NEW)$39.99

July 2013 PlayStation 3 Releases

Here’s a list of all the current releases and yet to be released PS3 games for the month of July. Notable releases include the PS3 exclusives “Time and Eternity” released on July 16th to average, mostly negative reviews and the “Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection“, released on July 9th. YES! Another PS3 collection, this time for the Metal Gear series. This awesome collection contains all Metal Gear games from the late 1980’s up until now! For a MSRP of $49.99, you just can’t beat the number of awesome MGS games you’re getting for the price.

Time and Eternity in-game sequences:

An example of Time and Eternity's hand drawn Anime style presented over detailed 3D backdrops. This is one of the "roundtable" scenes were the game engages you in mindless babble between Toki (the main character) and her friends. If this game drops below $30, I'd probably still pick it up because I'm a sucker for ero-type JRPG's

New Review Posted – Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

After picking up Enslaved last month for $8.99 used at my local GameStop and completing it, I have now posted my thorough review of the game under the REVIEWS tab on HiddenDefinition. This game also made my list of “Five Under Appreciated Bargain Bin Games” because it’s dirt cheap and an very good overlooked game. If you can spare around 8-10 dollars for the used copy of this game, it’s well worth your time.
